Blue Room

To date, this is one of our favorite History Channel promo campaigns. Since everyone in Blue Room is a huge Star Wars fan, we relished the chance to watch every movie in its entirety during business hours. History channel producer Mike Scalare spearheaded this project and tasked us with finding historical events or characters in the past that may have influenced George Lucus in the creation of Star Wars. We allocated half our staff to choosing key moments from Star Wars and the other half to digging through the Getty video archives looking to make a match. After a week or two of screening and conceptualizing, we had the joy of animating a morphing sequence between old and new footage. Although History only aired 3 of these, we created a total of 6 that found a home on YouTube and other video sites.
